Apparently, soldiers are going to the ER after taking Hydroxycut. The Angry Doctor comments: “I can’t imagine losing weight would be my first priority if I were in Iraq.”

theres a lot of pressure to be in the best physical shape possible. Especially when your prone to be in combat situations. You never know when losing that 10 – 20 lbs will give you the edge that meant you get to live another day. I dont blame them one bit for wanting that extra edge.
The MRE’s they eat are packed with calories. Most of the time is spent sitting around and waiting.
I didn’t realize that about the propensity to gain weight over there.
I wasn’t blaming the soldiers for taking hydroxycut. I was pointing to the comments of the company’s spokesperson. If what he says about the Army being a huge customer for Iovate is true, then I think they need to have a policy shift. Clearly their own doctors are saying NOT to take the stuff.
Typical MREs break 3000 calories. Even with heavy activity and psychological stress, that is a lot.
