Michael Moore’s latest has been leaked on the web. (via a reader tip)
Update:
Michael Moore is happy about the piracy of his movie and approves the downloads, leading some to believe he did it on purpose:
Personally, I think it’s likely Moore himself put it on the web. He used You Tube to put out the call for stories about health care and to promote the film’s trailer. Releasing it online is obviously in line with his socialist views.Frankly, if his new film loses 10 million worth of opening weekend box office, I won’t feel too bad about that.
Update 2 -
David Catron comments:
This begs the following question: If people have a “right” to use the services of health care providers without bothering to pay for them, why aren’t they entitled to watch Moore’s film for nothing? There is, of course, no such thing as “free” health care. Nor is there any such thing as a “free” film. Someone has to provide both of these commodities, and it costs the providers money to do so. They deserve to be remunerated according the value of the service””as determined by the market.
Perhaps Moore and his distributor will consider the irony of their situation, but I doubt it.

Would you consider this stealing?
If there are physicians out there who download the film to get it for free, and then go around beating their chests about the free market system, capitalism, and how wonderful HMOs are, do me one more favor. Take your stolen, downloaded copy and shove it.
No
If this was leaked purposefully by Moore’s camp…then no. Not stealing. -kir
Not worth viewing even for free.
It’s a great movie. I sat near Michael Moore at a sneak preview when he was in Sacramento this week.
My hope is that patients, people, all of us will demand HMOs be outlawed from the equation. John Erlichman and Richard Nixon are heard during one segment relishing the thought of Kaiser treating less to keep more money. That was the beginning of the modern health care system that we all know and hate.
although it was made by moore’s company dogeatdog, apparently it is distributed by weinstein & lionsgate (see sicko’s wikipedia entry). even if moore himself approves of the leaks, i don’t think he has the right to release the film for free…
