Sorry – it wasn’t nonsense to me when I was hit with a bogus lawsuit. It was true torture going through all the crap involved because some freaking attorney sued me because my name was on the chart. “Hysterical nonsense” my ass – get a life.

If you were to go ask a plaintiff’s lawyer what his thoughts were, he/she would probably tell you as well. In fact, some of them even teach courses to you guys on how to reduce your exposure.

Lawyers should be trying to help us, not sue us. My (only) lawyer friend gave me a copy of a new malpractice prevention book called PHYSICIAN, PROTECT THYSELF co-written by a defense lawyer he knows and a physician. Talk about short, sweet and to the point on how to reduce the chances of being sued. I highly recommend it to every practicing physician. Not all lawyers are evil, especially the ones who write books to help us!

Of course anyone can FILE suit for anything. You can’t determine the merit of claims that have not been filed. No system you devise will stop people from filing claims.
