Doctors and our professional associations sometimes are the worse enemies of freedom. The entire insistence on universal health insurance is part of this--completely ingonoring the fact that some people freely chose a sports car or a simple low paying job over a stressful one. More and more those in government and law refuse to accept the notion that people can rationally choose things that are less healthy but more enjoybale. The obvious assumptions behind this are a) the only valid set of values one can hold sets length of life above all else and b) that it's OK in some way for government to force that on those who aren't "enlightened" enough to agree.<br/><br/>Wrong on both counts.
