ScienceRoll points to the use of medicine in “virtual worlds” like Second Life, which is kind of like the world found The Matrix. Here’s a Second Life scenario teaching cardiac murmurs:
Just a game you say? Well the American Cancer Society and CDC are early adopters by setting up presences in this online world.

We constantly hear on the news about the so-called doctor shortage. Is there really,or do we have an abundance of stupid people.I dont know how many times Ive been to the walk in clinic to get a meds refill only to be faced with snotty noses and kids barfing. These things dont need doctors. All youre doing is stressing the kid with an unneccesary exam and SPREADING DISEASE.If people would learn some basic first aid and learn the symptoms of serious illness, doctors offices would be practically empty.I have seen people in emergency with broken pinky fingers, when are people going to learn that you cant put a cast on broken fingers and toes. My Brother in law went to the hospital for a twisted ankle,he waited for 3 hours only to be told to put ice on it. If he knew basic first aid then he would have known that if you CANT put ANY weight on a foot at all then its sprained or broken. If you CAN put weight on it,then put ice on it. I’m begining to think that first aid should be a mandatory requirement for graduation. The ignorance has got to stop.I dont know how many times I have overheard parents planning to take their kids to a doctor for colds. Doctors cannot fix colds.Unless your child has an ABNORMALLY high fever with other SEVERE symptoms the child is fine and will get over the virus in a few days. I know a woman who let he daughter miss school and dragged her to a doctor for a bleeding nose. How stupid are people going to get.She got a first aid lesson from her doctor. What a waste of tax payers dollars. If people are going to do that then they should have to pay CASH. A barfing kid needs to be at home in bed.Give them Gravol,Tylenol and plenty of fluids.Take the time to educate yourself on what the symptoms are of severe illness. Have we been brainwashed to believe that doctors are gods to the point that we no longer have common sence. If the kid isnt having unusual or severe symptoms then the kid doesnt need to be dragged to a doctor putting a strain on the system.Kids get viruses, that is a fact. Bugs dont need a doctor.
