“El-Fahkri spent a month in intensive care at a Melbourne hospital. The attack left him with a raspy voice, but 95 percent of his vision has been restored.”

Amazing.

The eye seems remarkably resilient to injury. A friend of mine was shot in the eye with a BB gun when he was in sixth grade while he was playing with some friends, and he has most of the use of his eye as well.
