In my view this is strictly a matter of intelligence.
Although we do not necessarily want to have a president with the highest IQ, there is a certain level of intelligence that is simply necessary to understand the complexity of the job.
One of the Republican tenets, shown by the experience of having a President with Alzheimers while in office, is that the key to the Presidency is having the right group of advisors to “guide” the President through the important decisions.
What we now have is a President guided by a Rasputin sort of character with an agenda clearly not in the best interests of the country.

I think it a misuse of psychiatric diagnostic nomenclature to use it with regard to public figures outside the context of medical treatment. And the AMA’s code of medical ethics supports that. That does not of course negate the utility of discussing the character traits of public figures and how they affect their behavior and therefore the nation. The man is stubborn. Is stubborn bad? Well it depends on whether you agree with the person or not, and on how it turns out. Lincoln’s stubborness saved the union. Hitler’s destroyed Germany.
