The occurrence of deep vein thrombosis in people arriving on long international flights means that at least a nurse practitioner should be available at such airports to recognize DVTs.

I hear that the London airports have that down to a science.

And what if they have a dvt. are they going to authorize these nurses to push heparin intravenously? thats dangerous stuff

there are guidelines for outpatient treatment of acute dvt w/lovenox &coumadin overlapping, not necessitating hospitalization.
