Apparently their physicians don’t use the USPSTF much:
Now that I’m 40, my premium is $300 a month. But it’s worth it. I went in on Tuesday and saw my nice Chinese doctor. I got my first prostate exam. Everything’s fine. I got a chest x-ray and an EKG and my ticker is healthy. I got all the blood tests a boy could want and the whole experience only set me back a $35 co-pay.
A chest x-ray, EKG, and “all the blood tests a boy could want” in an asymptomatic 40-year old doesn’t sound very evidence-based to me.

Having worked at and/or been a Kaiser member for nearly 20 years, I can 99.9% guarantee that EKG and CXR was not for a standard physical. He either said he had CP,SOB, etc- or led this MD to believe he had some risk factor. Or, perhaps scared him/her into thinking this member needed more “defensive” medicine testing than the norm.
