If the Pharmaceutical Industry pulled the plug on the product information, clinical papers, attention, service, continuing medical education, sponsorship, support, and free product samples they provide ... perhaps they might then be appreciated.

Ask any drug sales person to show you what The Medical Letter says about their drug...they often cringe at the truth.

"Run them out of your waiting room and take care of your patients doc!"

Amen! I will only allow them access after hours. Certainly prancing through a packed waiting room is just plain rude.

They have every right to get cranky. The other day when I was in my GP's office there were three patients in the waiting room but four - yes four - drug reps. The office manager had to come out and flat out tell them that the doctor was too busy to see them before they all went away grumbling. Of course they all insisted on dumping a bunch of literature and junk before leaving.

The good news is that I ended up with a neat pen from the Levitra lady - you press a button on the side and it slows unfolds and straightens out to its full length. Pretty funny. I also ended up with some Viagra smocks from the Viagra lady (now I wonder why the ED reps were both good looking women...) but while useful they aren't as funny.
