Has anyone seen the new laryngectomee cowboy ads? The feller holds an electronic larynx up to his throat and sings things like, You don’t always die from tobacco. Sometimes they just snip out your tongue”. Distubing but teens chuckle at the ads because they cannot possibly see themselves ever having such terrible consequences.
If you want to see how adolescents react to such scare tactics checkout Denis Leary’s “Tracheotomy Man” routine.
You’ll bust a gut laughing, then feel guilty for enjoying the silly humor.
