The focus continues on dwindling Medicare reimbursement. It’s nice that some patients see things from a provider standpoint, but unfortunately they are the ones that lose in the end.

There are important inaccuracies in the article, such as the impression that doctors can take medicare with some patients while privately contracting with others, but I am glad the media is addressing the issue.
Regarding the opt rules of Medicare, it is my opinion that they are unconstitutional, although no court has ruled on the direct constitutional issue to my knowledge. If a right to privacy protect abortion, it ought also to protect other medical services that people want the government to stay out of. It is clear that the opt-out rules are overly restrictive, as very few physicians do so, yet medicare patients can’t get services even when willing to pay for them privately.
It is as if the feds think that once you have signed up for Medicare, they own you.
