Kevin, do you have any proof at all that the defendant is in danger of going bankrupt as a result of this judgment? Or is that just propaganda?
Is it your contention that patient’s win when their bedsores and broken hips are left untreated in a place they are paying thousands of dollars a month to treat those very things?

Kevin, not all lawsuits are bad. The company understaffed their nursing home. They got punished.
If this defendant goes out of business another entrepreneur will step in and take its place.

I recently admitted a nursing home patient, in my community that was so dehydrated, they had to PRY his mouth open.
True NHs are not major money makers so they are very limited in the type of care they can afford to provide versus what they are charged to provide. But they are NOT where our parents go to suffer a miserable slow painful death.
Sue the bastards if any neglect was committed. Isn’t that is the real reason why malpractice exists. I almost feel like citing the nursing home that took care of the mouth shut dehydrated patient on this blog, but I won’t.
Instead this movemnt to rate doctors, why doesn’t anyone create a site, not the extremley limited Medicare.gov NH comparison site, where family members can rat hte nursing home. Hmf!! Maybe I will do just that. Anyone want to help me?

Hey Cdoc,
Why don’t you visit and attend to the patients at the nursing home? Oh that’s right, it doesn’t pay. Medicare, or an insurer might pay a doc for one visit a month and that is it. That is why if a patient coughs, sneezes, farts, vomits once they are packaged up into an ambulance for a 5,000 trip to the ER

Yes, Kevin could care less about what happens to patients. He is so law suit phobic that this is all he can see. He cannot get beyond it to even see reality. If anyone in the health profession is being sued then it must be wrong, is how he views it.
Nursing homes charge thousands of dollars a month for patients to be there. There is NO excuse for the type care that some of them give.
