So I wonder how long it took him to be evaluated by the jail physician?
Then again maybe that taser shook that ol’ stone loose.
I think every emergency room should be equipped not only with a defibrillator, but a taser.
What about psychotic patients already in shackles being tasered in the ER? That seems highly questionable to me, with the availability of 4 point restraints and injectable sedatives–but it happens.
I can make no judgement on the Houston case, but Tazers seem sometimes overused. Psychiatric cases are a large presence in ER’s and many of the deaths after Tazer use have been psych patients who are already on drugs with the potential to cause arythmias.
What’s the CPT code for that?
I’ll bet none of the other patients complained about the wait after that.
