Hotel concierge doc

Something to keep in mind when traveling. It may be cheaper and more convenient than going to the ER.

When we went to Florida last year I got sick. Concierge docs there started at about $175 and expect to be paid when services are rendered.

I ended up calling my insurance company for a referral to an urgent care center nearby which took my $15 copay and billed the insurance company.

Cheaper than ER’s, but there are less expensive alternatives.

The concierge doc might have been faster, though. I had about a 45 minute wait at the urgent care center and some times of day that’s much longer. If I was traveling on business and had a tight schedule, I’d probably have gone for the concierge doc.
