Wanting the same thing

January 10, 2007

A survey was recently done by Consumer Reports.

The second most common patient complaint: Couldn’t schedule an appointment within a week.

The second most common physician complaint: [Patients] wait too long before making an appointment.

Surely, something can be done here.

I find that when a patient complains that they couldn’t get an appointment within a week, s/he means that the illness started 7 days ago, they are just now calling you, and there are no appointments available today. P.S. It’s 5:50 pm on a Friday.
