MedPAC recommends a 1.7% increase in physician reimbursement in 2008. Without it? A double-digit decrease of 10%.

Why don’t we tie our staff and employee compensation to our revenues? Because that is not fair and we would not have ANY employees if we did. These unilateral, capricious actions should be deemed unconstitutional.

What is unconstitutional but not addressed by the AMA is the illegal opt-out rules imposed by Medicare. Add that to the continuous threat of decreasing reimbursements in the face of ever escalating overhead makes me want to get out of medicine completely and expand my real estate business.
