American-style healthcare? Sure.

Just be sure you don't also adopt American-style bankruptcy protection, because you're going to need it, eh?

"I don't understand why there's so much hate towards anyone who suggests letting this happen."

By doing this the neo-socialists will have to admit that a pure nationalized single payer system does not work and they will fight hand over fist to avoid this. Additionally, once you hand over healthcare to the government, which is arguably one of the most important aspects of human life, the government will tirelessly fight to hang on to it. I feel sorry for you Canadian’s, because you have a tough and bloody battle ahead…

We in Canada should just allow a two-tiered system to function and let patients pay privately if they so choose. I don't understand why there's so much hate towards anyone who suggests letting this happen.

These things go in waves. The excuse usually is that the other party failed to implement the ideal and that the current group can do better. Socialism is a perfect example of this. A failed economic system the world over and yet we find the same system being implemented by yet another tin pot dictator that is on the "road to social justice" (in our backyard). The same will go for the single payer system. Any failure of the Canadian system will be blamed on the Canadians and not the underlying single payer system ideal.

Looks like the single payer healthcare wall is on the verge of crumbling in Canada. It is only a matter of time before it goes down in flames along with all its single payer cheerleaders.
