The patient, an 84-year-old woman, suffered no adverse complications.

Hey, well at least there were no complications. Uh, unless you consider she only has one kidney now along with a diseased gallbladder.

You get what you pay for. Let’s just say that Medicare isn’t paying enough for a qualified surgeon to be interested. Circumstances such as this will likely become more common as brighter bulbs avoid medicine and fewer qualified professors are available to teach, resulting in a literal death spiral for medical care.
