Dear Google,

Don't revolutionize this field. Make many small improvements. Healthcare, at least as practiced in the US is too complex for a single solution. Also, it's too slow to adopt any technology even though doctors buys the latest cool gadgets (and most current MDs can't use EMRs, ironic)

My tip:
use your excellent, intuitive search skills to
1) Replace medline/ovid/cochrans datases - Scholar needs to be more powerful.
2) Create easy to use EBM alogrithm - everyone now a days is big on evidence based medicine. But why do I need to recreate teh wheel erverytime I want ot know the latest guidelines for Aspirin in secondary Cardiovascular protection, or steroids and septic shock. OVID/Cochranes, all require mutiple steps of search, filter and narrow down results, etc.
3) Create an easy to use ICD/CPT english language search function - if I type aspiration pneumonia, i should get the code that goes with it (not a choice between 12 irrevelant codes labeld by organ systems) - It's not not my job to really code - that's why there is this career called coding.

I could make all three but I'm too busy trying to make ends meet in my practice. So google, focus on these 3 things - this will start the google medical revolution. Then make a internet based EMR!!!
