Man that’s gotta hurt. Injected capsaicin should produce quite the noxious stimuli requiring practically a general anesthetic to humanely do. I’d love to find the full protocol these researchers used and their animal ethics committee’s review for this.

I don’t care about pain from injected capsaicin. I am in extreme pain every day because of type 1 diabetes. Sign me up for this and even if it doesn’t work at least someone is trying…

My grandson was diagnosed last year w/ type 1. It’s a real shame that the only info we can find about capsaicin is in Canada. Is there anyone doing this kind of research in the U.S. and where? Or are the drug companies keeping this all quiet to keep their profit margin high?

Regarding drug companies not doing anything – unless they can come up with some for of “artificial capsaicin” they can patent and thus protect their research, don’t count on it. Our USA treatment system revolves around patented processes, not what may work great.
