Not according to this opinion. Arguments are presented supporting the fast food industry:
It’s not simply fast food companies’ fault that obesity is rising in the US. To try to place the blame for obesity on them, or a large percentage of it, is to do no more than creating a scapegoat. Fast food is different than tobacco. Smoking can do little but cause harm. Fast food actually has benefits if eaten occasionally, and only becomes dangerous in excess. The fast food industry should not be targeted as the main cause of obesity.

“Fast food actually has benefits if eaten occasionally”
What, exactly, are the benefits of eating fast food occasionally?
Perhaps they mean benefits in the sense that you’re getting fed. Fast food is better for you than starving to death, right?
I think it has to do with moderation. Fast foods are great for an “ocassional treat” or a reward for something. It is the haibt of fast foods being eaten daily or several times a week that are dangerous.
Obesity, I think, is more the lack of exercise than anything else. When I was a kid we had cereal for breakfast and then we went outside and PLAYED..All day, everyday (except when in school) we played..Ran, jumped, skipped, made mud pies, jumped rope, etc…Show me kids that do that today? Todays kids sit and play video games all day and then still want McDonalds every night.
Put the bla,e where it belongs and it doesn’t belong on McDonalds…Ronald is not responsible for bad parenting and bad choices by parents and adults. You want to talk about McDonalds then lets talk how much they do for thsi country by way of “Ronald McDonald Houses”? Do you still know what those are?

What does the Ronald McDonald house have to do with whether or not their food is healthy? Enron was actively involved in giving back to the community through charitable giving before its demise. Did that lessen the harm they caused? No.
