But in the end the results of the test won’t change your health. HPV positive (which is what most people are and what screening regimens assume) you get screened per current guidelines. HPV negative, there is no evidence that less frequent screening is safe, so you get just as many pap tests anyway.
Best prevention: don’t get STDs in the first place. Your likelihood of cervical cancer is directly proportional to the number of penises you’ve had, times the number of years since you started having penises in you. Penis-years (cervical CA) is analagous to pack-years (lung CA).
