Typical. The military AHLTA EHR joke is costing even more (I believe near $5-6billion) and the system sucks. Maybe someone should look into it. Unlike Kaiser the military EHR fraud is stealing from US taxpayers.

There’s actually a Kaiser-AHLTA connection – William Winkenwerder Jr., assistant secretary of defense for health affairs comes from the Kaiser ranks. Perhaps that’s where he got the impulse to repair IT problems by changing the system/project name, too. ;-)
