I hope most people realize that these are a cross between toung-in-cheek and untested folk remedies. At best, one can state they are mostly harmless (though not completely).

The NYT science times debunked the bee stinger treatment well some months ago. The deposition of venom is mostly time dependent. It does not matter how you remove the stinger, whether by the shaving method with a knife or just grasping with fingers or tweezers. Squeezing didn’t release any more venom, but any delay while looking for a knife to effect the folk wisdom method does result in more venom deposition.
