Reimbursement may affect staffing or equiptment. Mistakes occur because there are failures to acquire clinical data and/or failure to know and act within their knowledge and skill sets. A shotgun approach to testing is no substitute for thoughtful consideration of the clinical data initially available and a low threshold for consultation of experienced nurses, radiologists, the lab and specialists on call or in house.
