A hospice patient is stabbed to death
Apparently by a family member. Tragic.

Does make one wonder why a hospice patient needed to go to a hospital to die. Just CYA on the part of the hospice I suppose. Hospice patients check in so that they can check out; there is no condition on the mechanism of death that alters the care plan for comfort, companionship and a non-hospital acute care centered end.
Yeah, don't you love that taking the hospice patient to the hospital so the last taxpayer Medicare dollar gets milked and someone else waits an hour longer in the ER. Truly ridiculous that it came to this. We continue to treat human beings worse than we treat dogs. I am more likely than ever to retire to Oregon.
