Governments forget that medicine is a business

Michigan is hardly unique. Medicaid is a losing proposition in lots of states: poor payment rates, very delayed payments, outright nonpayment (they just “run ourt of money”, apparently), truly terrible claims support. The patient population can be particularly trying: outrageous personal behavior, disruptive in the office, constantly late for appointments and outright no-showing for forty percent of scheduled office visits. It is a wonder anyone with a practice business to run sees fit to participate. It really is an act of mercy to accept that plan in many places.
