Are they dissatisfied physicians who are women, or dissatisfied women who are physicians?

The article actually was about shortages of primary care physicians, and never made the most relevant point. A typical female physician sees fewer patients per week than an otherwise similar male physician, so that the increasing numbers of female physicians will inevitably magnify any shortage of physicans that exists. That must have been too logical for the MD-PhD who wrote the articel.

Kevin, there were more than a half dozen reasons given, and yet you stress "dissatisfied female physicians". It may be true that female physicians may tend to work less hours than their male counterparts, but "dissatisfied"? I think that female physicians on the whole have a better outlook on their careers and lifestyles because they have more of a choice now than ever. What do other readers think?
