Berevement can take many, sometimes odd, forms. I've always thought of funerals as an event of the spiritual nature, for connecting with the essence of the departed, and sharing the spirit of the deceased with those who also knew and loved them. The precise contents of the casket or urn has always seemed largely irrelevant.

Just how vexingly stubborn must this family be. Does every bit of protoplasm of the former body require its own funeral? What if they should come across one of the deciduous teeth shed decades ago and found at the back of a sock drawer; will there be yet another funeral? Perhaps a forensic team could scour the house looking for bits of DNA shed from long lost dandruff.
