Besides I feel it is partially my fault: I should've looked up the symptoms on the internet and insisted on hormone test. They ordered one for thyroid, I should've asked to check estradiol/FSH as well. At any rate, have you every heard of anyone suing for missed POF diagnosis? Maybe it is exactly the reason nobody tests for it. That is if anon at 7:58 even knows what it is, somehow I doubt it. Otherwise, he'd know that this delay in diagnosis happens so often you could say it is the standard of care.

Just wanted you guys to know next time some poor young woman comes to you complaining of a history of 2- and 3- months delays. A cheap blood test for FSH/estradiol; 0 false positives, no need to waste money on a useless ultrasound. Wouldn't show a thing.

None, don’t like lawsuits. It usually takes months to years to diagnose POF even though there is a pretty accurate blood test available. The doctors would order a more expensive ultrasound (or just tell you "it is just in your head") instead of just checking hormone levels.

I am surprised they have PCOS but not POF on the list.
