Philip Morris is upset about the smoking baby doll.
“Philip Morris is threatening legal action over the sale of a ‘Smoking Baby’ doll–but not because the tobacco giant is offended by the thought of an infant lighting up, but rather because the diapered cigarette enthusiast appears to be enjoying a trademarked Marlboro.”

When I was a kid not all that many decades ago no one thought twice about buying kids candy cigarettes. Phillip Morris never complained then about the use of their sylized package design. Ah but the times are a changing; they have to pretend that they don’t market to kids and act as if they are offended. In reality they are just pissed that they didn’t think of the smoking baby first.
Gasman, I think your absolutely right. I bet you don’t remember when cigarettes were .24 cents a pk. do you? Kids of any age could buy them. My Dad would send us to the store with 1.00 to get him 4 pks. of them…(No, that was not child abuse, everyone did it, noone knew any better back then)But, the payoff was we came home with a whole bag of candy from those remaining .04 cents. I’m not ancient, but,I’m in my 50s, so that hasn’t been THAT long ago..
Phillip Morris was the creator’s of “The Marlboro Man”..Who stole all the womens hearts, making them want to run right out and buy a pk. of Marlboro’s….Goodbye Winston’s!!
Not only candy cigs but bubble gum ones also, and ones that you could blow on and some kind of powder came out, making it look like smoke..No wonder everyone in my generation started smoking.. Took me years to break the habit.
I used to “smoke” candy cigarettes and I’ve never smoked a cigarette in my life. Strong role models.
