Today's episode of Doctors Gone Wild:
First, the chief of gynecology at Jewish Hospital barged into her married ex-lover's house, started screaming and hit the man eight times while his wife hid in a bathroom, police say.

Then, she tried to kick her way out of a deputy's cruiser after her arrest.

Warren County Sheriff's deputies charged Dr. Marianna Vardaka with aggravated burglary and resisting arrest in the Saturday incident.

Comments:
This is one of those moments when I wish I'd gotten a degree in comedy writing instead of medicine.

The joke potential here is overwhelming.

Deputies reported that Vardaka was "fidgety, spacey and glassy-eyed" and she appeared to be "under the influence of an unknown drug or narcotic" when questioned.

OB/GYN will do that to you. How many out-of-control dermatologists do you know?

Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.

You two-time a dermatologist s/he will do the same thing to you. Only question I have is why did his wife hide in the bathroom? She should have gone into the garage and got the golf clubs out and they could have double-teamed the cheating bum.

Hiding in the bathroom huh? Be a cold day when some woman could barge in my house, having a tantrum ,and I hide in the bathroom....Wow, that man had a bad day!

I blame the trial lawyers.

Made for TV movie. Hope one of them is smart enough to sell the story to Lifetime or a similar network.

This type of things happens to non-doctors as well, at least this time nobody got shot. Otherwise you can expand the recently posted cartoon: doctors get sued, some doctors go wild, therefore law suits cause wild behavior in doctors.

diora,LOL...I was just thinking the same thing. Dr. Crippen should really add that on to his cartoon.

i actuly know her and would apreciat it if she was not made fun of thank you very much.

Kind of funny, but she delivered our first boy at Christ Hospital in 1994. We liked her alot.

"i actuly know her and would apreciat it if she was not made fun of thank you very much."

Just make sure she doesn't have your home address!

Affairs of the heart gone sour. Her actions tell us how bad she felt. Pity her. Reminds me of Glenn Close - Michael Douglas movie.

Who's next? Hope the media won't pick up your story. :)

The reason this happened is:
"Too many good docs are getting out of the business. Too many OB/GYN's aren't able to practice their love with women all across the country."—George Bush,Sept. 6, 2004, Poplar Bluff, Mo.

Being a good Doc. has nothing to do with what she did. I find it hard to "feel sorry" for any woman who storms in someones house uninvited, having a fit of temper!

A pity because she's putting her profession at stake. Good, the hospital she works for is behind her. She still got her post. Wait till the hospital's name will be drag in the scandal, are they going to wash their hands off her?

A pity not because she barge into someone else's house (nobody's going to be happy with that). One simply doesn't storm into somebody's dwelling and have a fit of temper when there's no obvious reason.

In this case, we have a man and money involved. And she got neither.

I know her, and I think she is a terrific person! The media is trying very hard to ruin a career. Would this have happened if she were a guy?? If, however, this becomes a movie, I want Angelina Jolie to play me!!

I know her as well and she is my doctor. I feel sorry for her because I know what it feels like to be lied to. I think that man got what he deservered. They should release his name and run it through the mud for being a cheater.

Well, scorned is a bad thing. To resort to that kind of behaviour is not acceptable, espescially from a professional. So what do you have to say for yourself, Dr, Vardaka?
