Oh there is something worse. What about the receptionist that tells calling patients to “go right to the ER’ or tell patients “go to the ER, your doctor will meet you there”. The patient shows up, and tells you “my doctor told me to go right to the ER”.

Oh–this happens at *all* to doctor’s offices. I also used to hate it that the person taking appointments wanted to know, in detail, why I needed to see the doc.

Now, I just kill them with details. If the vivid description of a supparating rash puts them off their lunch, well–that’s what they get for asking.
