More reasons not to prescribe narcotics. A widow is suing a doctor for prescribing her husband methodone and Vicodin for his back pain:

A Kelso widow who blames Dr. Lance Christiansen for her husband’s death said she’s thrilled the osteopath is finished practicing medicine.

Kelly Hensley’s husband Fred, 38, collapsed 48 hours after his only visit with Christiansen, who prescribed 13 medications for back pain, she said. Three days later — Feb. 16, 2005 — he was dead and his 33-year-old widow is convinced Christiansen’s prescriptions of methadone and Vicodin are to blame.

“Oh I am glad,” Hensley said Wednesday when she learned Christiansen will surrender his medical license. “I mean, the damage is already done, but at least he can’t do it to anyone else.”
