Anesthesia urban legend had it that redheads required more anesthesia. Using standard techniques to determine anesthetic requirements a comparison of natural redheads vs. brunets was conducted finding indeed that redheads required about 10-15% more inhaled anesthetic gas to achieve the same anesthetic level.
