Turmoil in the FDA: A high-ranking official quits after the Plan B delay
"I can no longer serve as staff when scientific and clinical evidence, fully evaluated and recommended for approval by the professional staff here, has been overruled . . . The recent decision announced by the Commissioner about emergency contraception, which continues to limit women's access to a product that would reduce unintended pregnancies and reduce abortions, is contrary to my core commitment to improving and advancing women's health."

interesting - the well-timed period has a good timeline detailing the foibles of this process. it's a shame to have the good people resign, though.
FYI- even though Plan-B is over the counter now many pharmacies still will not dispense it for "personal reasons" Especially in the Bible belt where I am from! Or if they do dispense it they want you to come in and have a "consultation" Plan-B is over the counter for anyone (man or woman) over 18 with proof of age don't let them tell you otherwise! If you are having a hard time finding a pharmacy that will dispense it getthepill.com will ship Plan-B to anyone over the age of 18 to any state overnight.
