Why would "some of the passion that binds them leave their lives" if the man is observing the birth of their child created out of that said passion?

When I had my babies 30 years ago. Men were not allowed in the delivery rooms. They sat in the "father's waiting rooms" or walked the halls. My husband still gets a horrid look on his face when I say something to the effect that "he should have been in there". My son however, was in the OR when his wife had their children and observed them being born through c-section. Didn't bother him at all.

Birth is a beautiful event and men should be proud to be a part of it. One would think it would serve to help the family bonding process.
