Dear Dr. Kevin,
My immediate response to reading this is a question, Did any of the medical staff pick up on the fact that the patient was agitated, nervous, behaving unusually??
I can make several guesses. One, the patient was mentally unstable. Two, the patient has post traumatic stress disorder, and physical contact near his genital region kicked off an extreme response.
Finally the patient was amped out on some street drug, which leads back to my initial response.
As usual, the story fails to report all aspects of the event, inviting the readers to make an endless variety of assumptions, and…we all know what happens when we assume something.
