it’s sad that a physician would take his life due to a claim against him like this, but it’s even more disgusting that the organization that crafted this press release is using his death so dishonorably: they’re a physician asset protection company, and want to scare doctors into structuring their assets to protect them from a malpractice claim. What scumbags.

I’m a med student and as such a huge supporter of tort reform in this country but either this news story is a joke or this physician had serious problems beyond his malpractice case. I understand how devestating any lawsuit can be to a life, and how it can financially destroy someone and even their profession. In the case of many people a profession can be a life.

However, your comments on this blog seem to support the “press release” assertion that what this physician did was noble. Ridiculous. If this story is true this physician was a nutcase and with any common sense his “last wishes” will find no place in the public domain…too late.
