Global Anti-Smoking Pact Goes Into Effect
“A global treaty aimed at dissuading children from smoking and helping adults kick the habit came into force on Sunday with the United Nations saying it could save millions of lives.” (via Yahoo Newsbv) The US has not yet signed the treaty.

Symptoms of nicotine withdrawal include:

(1) dysphoric or depressed mood
(2) Insomnia
(3) irritability, frustration, or anger
(4) anxiety
(5) difficulty concentrating
(6) restlessness
(7) decreased heart rate
(8) increased appetite or weight gain

I quit smoking as of Jan 6, ‘76 and have been suffering (to some extent), all of those symptoms ever since. I have managed to cope so far. Even finally losing some weight.

Does anybody actually believe that a United Nations decree to reduce smoking will have any negliable effect? If you do you might be smoking something yourself.

With the UN track record, one could easily surmise that while they promote this decree from their podium they’re in the backrooms boxing up generic cigs to trade for oil or prostitutes with third world countries.
