Male docs hit with more malpractice claims

    What an asinine simplistic article! No mention made of the fact that female docs see fewer patients than male docs over the course of the year, or, and this is the most important distinction, that women tend to practice in lower risk specialties than men (peds and IM vs surgical specialties). A useful informative article would compare male orthopedists or pediatricians or psychiatrists who have been in practice for 10 years to their female counterparts. Making that comparison would have required some work, digging out numbers from case files instead of reading a prefabricated press release. They have to fill the space between advertisements somehow…
