It was a terrible experience and I will not take those pills again, I threw them out. But, my doctor has said that this will have an effect on my heart eventually if left untreated, so I don't know what to do. So glad to know I'm not the only one out there with this problem, and yes, it's like being a drug addict sometimes! I took the iron pills and guess what, I had to go to the doctor one day and have an “extraction” done, I was blocked. Morning, noon and night!! It drives my husband crazy!! I even have to take a full cup with me on my drive to work. I know I'm probably driving my co worker crazy but, I can't help it. I have been diagnosed with anemia my hemo is a 6. I also have heavy periods and sometimes lasting 3 wks at a time. I've been told to take iron supplememnts but than there is the problem with constipation. So, I end up not taking it like I should. Gotta Go...my cup is now empty. Need a refill!! I can not believe this is real! I have been eating ice for sooooo long and I really mean when I say I CAN NOT STOPPPP!!!! I actually have a cup in my hand as we speak! I could not believe that it got so bad that I had to go onto the Internet and put in "ice addiction". I never knew sooo many people suffer from this!!!! I also, like others have a low blood count (4 and now 7) and heavy cycles. I know I'm anemic and was given iron pills to take 3 times a day along with a multi vitamin. Going to start taking soon. I feel sooo guilty because I have an ice shaver and I live in an apt. Lately, I've been using the machine at least 3x a day and unfortunately it is VERY LOUD! At first I use to feel so bad because the walls are so thin and I crave ice all day and night. I've tried everything to muffle the sound but my "addiction" is stronger than my "consideration". I keep thinking they're going to tell the landlord to put me out!!! I use to joke with my family and say it's like a cigarette, drugs or alcohol addiction. I have to have a specific bag of ice from Wawa and I shave it reeeal fine and eat 2 - 3 16ounce cups in one sitting. Like others, while I'm at work I can control it but you better believe I am thinking of it on the way home!!! I want to stop! So far my teeth are okay but I don't want to cause any damages over this.
