Probably the sorest part of the article former was when Patrick attacked the press, saying they had no credibility. If half of his stories were true (such as the Lima driwoning victim case), he’d only have to provide a little documentation to clear his name. Alas, it’s easier to attack the media than face teh music.
This was some top-rate muckraking from the Cleveland press, and hopefully it’ll lead the Ohio Medical Board to put more emphasis on delicensing the fraudulent docs. While I have a tremendous deal of respect for physicians, I wish state medical boards dealt harsher punishments on the ones who have … to put this nicely … questionable training and treatment styles.
Being a resident of Lima, Ohio for more than 50 years I did some searching today to try and find additional information about this drowning victim in 1980. If you go here http://www.patrickinstitute.org/ed_reord.htm You can read the hospital records pertaining to a drowning victim on 6/22/80 brought into Lima Memorial Hospital. Those records do state that CPR was used on this child. However, all personal information has been blacked out. She was supposedly 2 year old Erin Snow. Also, on this Physician report I didn’t see Dr. Patricks name any where. I did however see references to Drs. Holladay and Reddy who were both long term and well known Physicians in Lima.
I became a bit amused when reading this site, http://clevescene.com/issues/2004-04-11/feature.html when it tried to create some reliable reference to this Dr. Patrick based on a little information gained from Dr. William noble. Dr. Noble was absolutely a long time (decades) physician in Lima. For many years he was in private practice, he was my parents Dr. for years when I was a small child, and around mid 70s he gave up his practice to work full- time at LMH emergency. Eventually, he was prosecuted and lost his medical license for medical related charges including illegal prescribing and drug trafficing. Not the ideal physician to gain negative information from in reference to another physicians questionable actions.
Correction…Where I stated CPR above I meant “Heimlich”.
